hey, taht sites AU part is STILL under construction... its been like a year. I know it was a couple of KW over the EL's. maybe +6 or something.

Nah im pretty sure the EF, EL and AU had the same peak power (157kw)

the xr i6's in ef/el had 164kw ;) and ghia el's aswell i think

the AU got a better bottom end, and a different head and so forth, I dount the power output wouldve been kept... but you could be right... and mitch_anderson is right about the ghias and XR's that I remember for sure, and the fact that they had the 3.45 LSD. :P

Ford quoted the same peak power, but it obviously has maybe just a few more herbs and spices!

Yeah, true, maybe stock had same figures... but had more potential.. Im not sure on teh AU's.. never liked them :P

ebxr6 is 165kw right same as an eb v8. i thought an elxr6 would have more than that. as for au's they are soooooo gut less my ebxr6 could drag off my dads 2003 au.

hmm....~165 for the EF/EL XR6, and Fairmont Ghias. Im pretty sure on that. I dunnoa bout the EB XR6, and the AU's were gutless.

its where the motors make thier torque that makes them feel different. As for the comment on the AUs being gutless, maybe there is something wrong with your dads car or yours is a factory freak, as the AUs had about 20fwkw more than your EB, unless your comparing an auto to a manual of course???

Correct, i bet if oyu look up torque the AU 6 will have more, also oyu got to remember the AU is a better balanced engine there for will preform better

When me and my parents went to test drive one, they found the acceleration weak, and not responsive. Although this was a second hand car, it was relatively new then.
