hey all... im starting this thread toask a few questions about the engine for my eb2 gli...
here is the build thread http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=67945&highlight= so the engine thats in the EB atm is its original one with 400,000kms on it... and has done a headgasket... i also have a EF here for wrecking with 220,000kms on it has recently had a new head put on it but has been absolutely flogged and will start but only for about 30 seconds with rpms at 3000 it makes a few loud bangs on the right hand side of the engine (looking from the front) then cuts out... the oil looks fairly clean but im afraid it has some serious internal damage... so idea one... i would like to know if i could do this without to many issues... im taking the interior out of the ef for the eb and want to run whole ef electrics for the eb engine... so to do this i think i would have to. - ef head and injectors? - ef thermo fans - ef BBM - all ef belt acc (p/s, alternater, a/c compressor?) - remove gas from eb engine (for now) and would like some help with this anyone has any info... let me know if this would work or what else id need to do... cheers cam...

What you have said is correct. There are a couple of ways you can do the electrics though. I did the entire EF loom swap, and it takes a little longer, but is much easier. I would do it again.
The other way is to modify the bbm loom to suit the EB loom, plug in the ecu, and wire in the bbm to the ecu plug, and same deal with the dash components, making convertor looms. I highly recommend the entire loom swap. there is not alot of mod to fit it.
