by the sounds of it its running very rich, i rebuilt engine in my XF ute its still running the weber carbie and i get around 450 km's to a tank, and thats with 98 octane fuel too. take it to a ford dealer and get them to do a diganostic check, it could've spat out an error code of some sort.

It's been cleared up with the OP constantly using WOT. Diagnostics would only show TMAP out of range at worst.

i get 430kms out of my EF XR6 that thats about 80% city driving and that just gets to the top of the red line so can push more kms but i dont...
I think u should get LPG conversion if you want o save money and still drive it the way u do.... I get 350kms per tank of LPG for same driving as petrol at half the cost

on the ba the average economy gauge is a little off, when you fill up divide the amount of petrol by the km's driven then times this answer by 100. that will give you a accurate answer.
eg. 50L goes in at fill up and you traveled 400km's (50/400 * 100= 12.5L/100kms also as said driving style affects your fuel usage obviously.

yeah, so 68L divided by 400k's times 100 = 17L per 100km

i think i have the answer to your problem...
in another thread you mentioned that you put a 82 deg thermostat in.. if your water temp is to low the engine ecu thinks its still warming up hence using more fuel than required.. thats why a to cold thermostat is a not so good idea in efi cars.. |

ok tell me if urs is the same, when my car heats up whilst driving the temp guage sits inbetween 1 quatar line and half way, never goes past half way when sitting at lights,, most it goes is like 4millameters under half way mark...on cold nights it sits on 1 quater line...whilst driving...
