thats right life up the boot carpet, and just to the top left of the spare wheel, u cant miss it., also if u want to take it out u will need a specail tool, because of where the band sits. i couldnt do mine because of it.

That would be the fuel pump. The filter is under the car. There is a little filter on the end of the fuel pump inlet, but that one shouldnt pose a problem. The one you are chasing is under the rear passengers seat area under the car!

When you decide to change the fuel filter, make sure you release the pressure in the line first before you decide to undo the nuts...or else you will have very sore eyes. phong =P~

the factory setup for an EF/L is screwed in on both ends of the filter.

Leroy is correct here...EF/Ls have union bolts on either side of the filter. EA - EDs had the hose clamps I believe...I remember my EA had hose clamps with the ugly looking rubber tubing...where as my EL has bolts with metal piping...
phong =P~ EDIT: forgot to link you to the General Maintenance Documents in the Tech Documents section of the Forum. I updated it by writing up a short doco on how to replace the fuel filter...look at my last long post in the last page if you need a hint on how to do it. http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopi ... 4&start=40 <--- ooops forgot to link it haha
