Fuel pump on my NA stops working intermittantly leaving me stranded in places away from home...this is getting to be very annoying
Checked pump itself, its all good, just no power to it when its playing up. Checked relay, tried a few on it,still refuses to power up the pump. Can hear relay click when ignition comes on but nothing happens.12V at relay constant, but wont switch over when you turn the key...Leave it a while and it works again, sometimes this takes a day!! Any thoughts?? Im kinda new to all things Ford,is this a common problem?? |

Not common as far as i know. Ive had a fuel pump play up and die once (the only time a ford has left me stranded in 12years ) You may just be better off getting some two core wire and just re-running the wires. will only take you a 1/2hr. Have you checked the resistance? and the quality of the terminals? see if there corroded and clean them up with some wd40.

Its all clean terminal wise at both ends...the problem is around the relay end as there is no power coming from relay to rear of the car...Im guessing its some kind of switching problem but thats as far as I have got!
