I've used only prem in my falcon for a year and it runs great

I've just recently had 2 tanks of unleaded and there is a BIG difference... Fluttering/Ticking from the engine when cold, doesn't have as much punch, the engine sounds like it's choking and splats and splutters (sounds beefier) but unhealthy.

I also get about 50-100k's a tank more using prem.

tempted to try a little e10. personally i wouldnt think it would do much more than drag a lot of water out of the tank and burn a little cleaner

The Shell E10 is 95 octane so it's the strongest of the E fuels.
BP ultimate is regarded as the best premium.

Premium is a far better fuel than just normal unleaded as long as the premium fuel you can get is 98 octane or higher.

Forget using E10,mentioning this.Earlier this week i replaced a fuel pump in a AU S2.
Pulled the pump out and the filter at the bottom of the pump was covered in a slimey substance.I thought there was water in the tank so i run my hand the through the tank and had a light present and it was very very clean.I fitted the new pump.It was fixed.

Later talked to the customer and asked her we she had been getting her fuel from and what fuel she was using and she said "i am using E10 and have been using it since it has come out".

So the little saving that you get when you purchase E10 turned out for her a $240 job of replacing the fuel pump.

But now we also had to remove the fuel rail and get the injectors cleaned. So there's another couple of hundred dollars there.

Sorry to blab but just trying to help people out.cheers

i'd rather drink shell fuels over putting it in my car. after seeing first hand damage to some engines using it, no thanks...

I use E10 a bit and i've also replaced a fuel pump to a larger unit.
There was nothing wrong with the old one,no slime no nuthin'.Replaced it incase i go bigger power with the Supercharger down the track.
I use it all the time absolutely no problem.
Though i do get better mileage out of 98.
