Hey all,

Just wond wondering if anyone has any knowledge on whether the following full alum radiators and coolant tanks are any good? -I say this as i found a coolant leak on the side of the radiator where a crimp was not successful, but after bending back in to place has stopped.

My issues might be caused by the air conditioning fan being disconnected.
The aftermarket coolant tank is warped (and cracked a fraction at the top) a bit, but the overflow.

My thoughts, since it's my work car and just started subcontracting, better fix it right and just get it done.

But are they worth it?
Cha.
Matt.

Hi Matt,I did use aluminium radiator and tank in my XG and ended up with leaks (and yes rad was earthed),tried to get it repaired at a couple of places and they wouldn't touch it,said throw it in the bin and buy a good quality one, tank was fine though different to the one in ebay pic, anyway thats my experience with them.
Cheers Johnny.

Think it was about 18 months before I had to remove it and got a copper core one-still have it but don't know what to do with it

You needed better cooling? How much better was the copper radiator and was it worth it?

Yea thought going aluminium rad and tank would be the go whilst doing the Barra conversion and it did work well but just didn't last (had both the rad and tank earthed too)-developed more than 3 small holes that would weep constantly, bought the copper one second hand $50 and it was under 12 months old and no problem since.

Ithink if I was going to go that way again I would spend abit more on a decent brand one

Cheers John.
