Has anyone seen or is using a Gates racing blue belt on their BA. Wondering about the costs and how good they actually are

To answer my own question. Yes and they cost $60 plus postage.

What's the benefit over the blue belt over the black one besides your penis looking bigger?

Is another one of those "If I put $600 spark coils, I'll gain 50kw..."?

Pretty sure you won't gain anything from the belt. Sure, some are quieter, some are louder (like the gilmer drive belts... sound like SC whine).

Combined with a ebay supercharger and "power chip" the rwkw increase is mind boggling.
Better drive around on m/t slicks to hold her straight from red light to red light.

Apparently 3 times the life for less then double the price.
It's probably a complete wank but it's for my granddads xr6. He needs a new belt and I do all the work to the car so I figure I'll buy him a better belt for Christmas.
I'm sure someone on this site says why replace when you can upgrade..
Plus it's blue guys.
f**k BLUE!!!!

Cummon man, if it's called a racing belt it's gonna be a bit better then a normal belt.

Slicks do sound nessasary tho.

Acually cheaper than a Bosch at Super Cheap.

Blue will mark instantly due to oil and corrosion from the pullies and coating will wear off after about a week and look shabby.

Not too sure on the quality, mine still seems fine after about 18 months.

Gates belt is better quality but the blue is nothing over the standard Gates belt. The blue doesn't last long anyway and will go black.

Where did I say anything about pulleys having oil on them.

The blue is a coating, it is affected by heat etc, you know the stuff that builds up in the engine bay. The blue coating wears off and there is discolouring via road grime, dust etc, comes through the radiator with the air, up underneath etc, or does your engine bay stay spotless all the time.
