my knob shakes when i go more than 130 km/hr, gets progressively worse the faster i go.. im scared i'll blow something in the box if i go to fast.!

nahh my gearstick in the gearbox vibrates rapidly? anyone else had this problem.. or is it normal?

cos im eager to test out the non limitations of my computer but a tad concerned about it.

This post made me chuckle a little bit. Cause it sounds like you are having Sex. Because Knob can also be refered to as Male genitals and Box being Female genitals.

hahahaha...... amusing...... but on a serious note it might be a slightly bent or un balanced tailshaft... not to sure

If it was the tailshaft, i guess it could set up a bad harmonic or something, and make the stick move around. I guess it owould just be easier not to speed :D

but then i guess, youd only be speeding on the race track right? 8-)

Could be quite a few things couldnt it? Perhaps one of the rear wheels/tyres is unbalanced?

Are busted gearbox mounts readily identified ? My gearstick also gets a bit of vibration at high speed but I always thought that was just a function of the high the speed. Since having the clutch done it also make a dronny vibration when you put the clutch in or take it out of gear at >120ks...

check ur transmission mounts/rubbers, if its the driveshaft which id doubt it would more likely be a worn universal joint on the front which isnt all that common, normally the rear goes first cause of the tilt on the diff making the angle greater on acc and dec.

I have a solution:

Don't drive at 130km/hr!

Seriously though, definitely get it checked out. Could be very dangerous at those high speeds.

yeah when i went up to willowbank, i hit 160 down the strip, and as i press the clutch in and put it in neutral, i also get a vibration, i think it might be the tailshaft out of balance, the ford tailshafts are one of the longest in the world

my hole car and manual gear knob was shaking so much when i went over about 120kms up to 150kms and it came to a point that it wouldnt even go over 150.

i got the 4 wheels balanced and the shaking stopped. at the time i also had recaps on, which were crap.
