I've always been a ford man but now ive got this car i wanted to kow what mods i can put on me car to give it that little bit more. Its a standard tickford XR6 engine in an AUII Fairmont Ghia. Also wanted to know how much power the car has standard as i cant get it on the dyno for about the next month.

power from the XR6 engine should be at around 164kW @ 5000 rpm not sure what that would be in rwkw, as for some simple mods to free up a bit of kay-dubs, try some extractors and exhaust, both can bee fitted fairly cheaply, if you want more you cant go wrong with a cam upgrade, im not sure if you will need to upgrade your computer with a cam, i guess its how lumpy of a cam you want.

Dont worry about hurting the engine, they are though as nails. The only way you can really do damage is by revving the crap out of it but the rev limiter will stop you from doing that anyway.

rwkw really depends on how honest the dyno is. You could get anywhere from 110-130rwkw but 115-120 would be a good honest result from a stock engine.

I was thinking Power Chips for an extra kick

Checkout the "CAPA Flash Tuner" @
http://www.capa.com.au/ford_flash_tuner.htm
CAPA claims it can add up to 50 Kilowatts of extra power.

or checkout

ChipTorque
http://www.chiptorque.com.au/Ford/AUXR6.html
They have kits to gain from 2kw upto 25kw.

Hey mate, my car sounds like a skyline but you have to understand a few similarities between the engines.

Also, I realise your new here, but i'll let you know, listen carefully to stockstandards advice, hes one of the most knowledgeable on the forum when it comes to the inline 6's.

Don't worry too much about peak power lvl's, whats more important is a higher diff ratio with preferably an LSD and even a stall converter to get the auto up to scratch. All this helps get your power to the ground and achieve better quarter mile times.
