runner cheaper less grippy bald tyres, that arn't as wide, increase your tyre pressure a bit to (as usually you decrease it at drags to increase grip, so increase pressure to reduce rolling resistance and reduce grip i guess).
if your diff is LSD remove it for a pov pack single spinner.
rev it up in neutral and put it in gear if you have the finances spare for a new tranny, tailshaft and diff.
put a higher ratio diff gears in it too so it is more similar to commodore gearing,

in wet weather my car will do it. Im running 205s on stockies all round and the back ones still have plenty of tread.

This arvo had it go from bout 65km/h put it in second and just planted it, lit the rears up and span till nearly 100km/h till i decided enough was enough.

Thats with LSD and 3.73:1 gears so it revs harder than most do at any given speed. Auto btw

its an auto so i cant revv it to much, and my with my mates vn all you need to do is accelerate full anywhere on gears 1 and 2 and the car will get wheel spin.
i just tried putting it in nutreul(while driving 30km/h and revving it to about 4500rpm then switching into 1. the gearbox just went buzurk and stalled lol.

if its a single pegger it will do it easy as, limos are harder to get going but

oh btw, if you do neautral dumpers, dont expect your gearbox to last long. nice quick way to destroy an transmission. its not a manual, you cant just dump it!!!

will a lsd diff help because of the shorter ratios?
i can get soo much wheelspin on take off, if i just plant it, it will spinn to about 80km/h(note only single spinner) but cant get any while driving(unless its raining)

Ummm I can do this in 1st gear pretty easily, even thru the LSD. I just take it to about 30km/h slowly, then floor it and it spins up.
Pretty sure if the EL is a 5-speed with a couple of mods it should do it, especially if it's a single spinner diff in it.

LSD has twice the traction, so any difference in ratios isnt going to be a big deal. To put it simply, your friend has a lack of traction, not a heap of power.

why do you think commodore owners always have stock rims on the rear of their cars, cos they cant light them up off the line with decent rubber on the road
