rip any excess weight out ie jack /spare tyre and any other crap lying around . let your tyres down to 20 psi .try starting your first launch at 2000rpm and see how you go ,if you don't get any wheel spin keep increasing your launch by 500 rpm ie 2000 2500 and so on.make sure you do a decent 2nd gear burnout to get those tyres nice and sticky.
the biggest tip is don't worry about the guy next next to you just pay attention to what your doin .
and beware drag racing is very addictive.

isnt the burnout pointless on street tires?

i think a little burnout is good for it.
certinalty dropped my 60 foot times by .1

take out ur airfilter :D
u dont need that.
with an open center diff i wouldnt launch at anmore then 2500 or the drive wheel will just arc up.
for you car with ur mods, 5500 would be a decent point for shifting gears. u probably wont get out of third tho so make sure 2nd to 3rd is smooth change.. coz its the hardest gear change out there........
:D
good luck and let us know how u did!

Looking forward to hearing you kicked butt :)
