Hey all,
My ef has been leaking alot of oil lately and cant see where it is comming from. there has always been a small leak at the top of the rocker cover in the seal at the front but i dont think it could leak that much oil and leave puddle son the ground? We have had a little look at it looks like it may be the front main pulley seal? (at the front down the bottom) it leaks a fair bit went through like 5 litres in a week from topping her up. Any common problems/leaks for ef's that i should look at? also how much would it roughly cost if it was the front pulley seal thing? Could i do it mysef? Hope someone out there can help, i hate oil leaks cheers, dyl.

is it leaking or burning make sure no blue smoke is coming from the exhaust
im sure if u were loosing 5L of oil a week u would no wear its coming from you could have stuffed piston rings or a nasty head gasket |

If its coming form down the engine near the front it sound like its your crank seal and your timing cover gasket.
b**ch to change but not expensive. Although you should replace the sump gasket while you're there if you're hoisting the engine up. Alternator, power steering, harmonic balancer, crank angle sensor, alternator braket and every single sump bolt (meaning extractors and engine to transmission brackets) the kit full of new gaskets costs ~$45. Not including sump gasket.
