I got my 2800 Highstall fitted today and it's a completely different car to
drive. I thought it would slip all the time when trying to drive normal, but it
actually drives the same at normal throttle and it spins hard off the line now!!
I might have to change the diff ratio from the standard 3.27 LSD to a 3.70LSD.Has anyone fitted a 3.7 to an auto before? It sits on 2000rpm at 110km/h in 4th and was wondering what the revs would be with the 3.7.
Cheers,
Dave.

Doing a quick calculation you should find you'll sit at 2263 rpm with a 3.7 diff compared to the 3.27

Smiley235, when you do a standstill it will rev to 2800 before it starts to spin(which i didn't try  ) and when you floor it with no brake it will slip a bit and grab at 2800 and take off. I think thats the way it works?

ok, so how do the wheels start spinning with the brakes on? or do you use the handbrake?

Good to hear davey! Would definately suit that monster of an engine better than the standard torque converter!

Got that EMS hooked up yet?

I've having trouble getting out of our steep driveway in the mornings. :(

With the big trans cooler on the fluid won't warm up in any remotely decent amount of time.

CAMERONCOULSTON, the high stall cost me $250 and $220 to fit.

Smiley235, the back brakes don't lock up as hard as the fronts when you do a standstill with the brakes on.

Martin, the EMS is all up and running. Dennis from Boostin Oz did the final tune last week and got 142.4rwkw. We got Bill Towler to come down and dial the cam in a bit more (he fits JMM cams here for Brendan) but the cam runs out of legs at 5100rpm. I will have to look at a bigger cam to get the most out of the engine. Might have to have a look at the new Wade cam tensixty6 said they are working on, or an RPD cam. I thought i would get more out of the Dev4 cam, but the auto does rob more power than a manual.
Might have to come up to your joint one day and stir up Luke and take you fellas for a joy ride!! :P :P

Davey Gravy. Before you do the diff, get your car on a dyno to see where you are making peak power. The 3.73 diff will bring the power down from an unusable range to usable. If you have peak power happening in a good spot then dont change it. My converter gets up to 3400 rpm.

I had spectacular power off the line with standard diff but a bit sloppy/loose in normal driving. The 3.73 diff stopped the looseness but the getaways off the lights was slower.
