Lately my car has been making a strange grinding noise, seems to be related to steering somehow rather. When i turn my steering to the right about an inch the noise goes away but when turn it back to center or to the left, a loud grinding noise comes on again.

Just wondering if its a wheel bearing, power steering (oil is good) or something else ?

Thanks in advance.

Loose rack maybe?
BA's are renowned, for them becoming loose

Does it do it when stopped or only when moving?

If it's only when moving i'd be inclined to say wheel bearing although they make more of a loud droning noise rather than grinding.

if its more a creaking clicking noise id say tighten the 2 rack mount bolts. but grinding? check your front balljoints arent flogged out and dragging on the inside of your brake rotor
