Grrrrrrrrr... How do cars always know when the worst possible time is for them to play up?
I leave on Sunday for a week and a half, get back and I've got work and exams for uni straight away. So, this morning my car decides not to start, starter motor just turns the engine over and nothing more happens!
Must be fuel or spark, hopefully will get a chance tonight to look and it and it'll be something small I hope.
I know the 2nd fuel pump is definately still working as I can here it prime the line when I turn the key over.
BTW - should the injectors be opening when the engine is being turned over? I.e. if I disconnect the wiring plug off an injector and test it, should there be current switching on and off through it?

simplest way to start is remove a spark lead and check for spark against an earth (such as rocker cover bolt or body)

second remove the fuel line that goes into the rail while cranking see if fuel comes out...

id suspect a coil or something

just plug a 12volt test lamp on one of the injector plugs and check for flashes while cranking. Then plug a spark plug in lead 1 and earth the plug out to chassis with an alligator clip and check for spark. That's all I do when starting too fault find. fuel, air and spark are the 3 main elements too combustion.
