My most recent mod was a GT Snorkel. For all the new people to ford modification this is a very easy to install mod and it’s a direct fit. I fitted it on my Ford Fairmont EL 1997.

GT Snorkel Part Number - EFTVE 9A624

To remove / install - 2 Screws hold the snorkel in, just remove them and twist the snorkel off from the airbox. Fit the new GT Snorkel to airbox, add the 2 screws.

I have some pictures comparing the standard EL snorkel and the GT snorkel

I put the AU Tickford intake into my EF - i think it looks better because of the tickford symbol on the intake!!

But im not sure if its any bigger than the gt one or not!

Its roughly the same as the EL GT one.

Molloy go back to Ford and quote them that part number that Chooka put up and you should get one.

xr Rob the XR6 one is the same as the smaller one in the pics. The EL GT one is the best one to fit because its a perfect fit.
The AU3 XR8 one fouls on the thermofan cover.

Have a look on ebay if you cant find a place to get one or Ferntree Gully Auto Salvage. I had a mate get it from Ford Spares. I went with the EL GT Snorkel as it was a direct Fit, no need to drill holes like the tickford one. Its a cheap easy mod.

Let us know how you go Molloy

i picked up my au tickford snorkel from ford spares, took me all of 2 minutes to drill some new holes and fit it. i prefer the au snorkel because of the tickford symbol but apart from that either one is good

Yeah grab that one EF/EL XR8 snorkel. That part number is correct for the bit you want.
