Ok.
I have a ebseries 1 factory manual. Since I've owned it the accelerator pedal has been quite hard to depress compared to other falcons I have driven. When I bought it the cable was s**t so I replaced it with a new one (for a manual) and installed it. The new cable got rid of the poor takeoff (cable was streached to far to adjust it up) but still has a stiff pedal. Is it just my car or have others experianced something similar |

My ef is a little stiff, it never felt stiff until i drove a mates ef and noticed his was alot lighter, but its not mega stiff so i dont wory about it!

You could try lubricating your throttle body. I might be a lil bit stiff due to age. Just take it off and give it a good clean

what comhelp said. clean it and lube up all linkages and pivot points

Yea I was thinking it would be something like that.
Reckon giving it a hit with wd40 would do it? Also. Should I be lubing the tb side or in the pedal somewhere. Itd be more throttle boddy side hey. |

yeah the throttle side. Get some throttle body and carby cleaner. Give a nice good clean bath in that and then see what you can use to lubricate it some. Maybe some silicone spray would be better than WD40

By clean the throttle body you mean the outside right?
Just cleaned the inside up a month ago. I gave it a hit with wd40 and its a little smoother. Can't really do much with a broken arm tho. |

check your pedal box, they tend to foul up a bit, the plastic bush on it may have worn out causing metal on metal, and a heavy pedal. if you can open an dclose the throttle body by hand you would be able to feel how much or little resistance there is on that end of things, if its nice and free, look at the pedal box side of things. you probably will be able to get away without removing it. but I would drop the cable from the TB and see howyour accelerator pedal feels then.

On one of my cars it was actually bent and not pulling the cable straight but on a angle. The other time it was just gunk on the pivots and the last was a frayed cable.

I think if the pedal is bushed, they will be the same as the clutch pedal bush. Didn't think about a bent pedal box actually, could be that as well.

Pretty sure its the plastic bushes.
When you press the pedal down it gets pretty rough before the floor. Will check it at a later date tho. Cheers for the help fellas. |
