Hi everyone, as the title says got an EF that is near impossible to start in the mornings. Once it gets going and warm up it will start fine all day everyday. Thought it may be coil packs, so replaced them and still the same. Its faultless once its running.

It will just keep cranking until the battery is ready to give up, then ill walk away come back 15 or so min later and it will start fine...any ideas.

Im thinking along the lines of petrol regulator, or even cam angle sensor.

thanx

have you tried giving the bcm a whack while cranking? next to the steering column just above your left knee

Cranking nice and fast, only slows down after heaps of cranking, then when I come back to try again, will crank fast again and then start.

hey mate, i had an ef same problem had trouble starting in the morn. Crank it first leave for 15mins and crank again it would start. Turns out i had a head gasket issue. do you use water, or over condensating, also check spark plugs if one is rusty polished or badly corroded you may have a prob. 9 times outta 10 itll be between 5 and 6 or 4 and 5. Take the exhaust heatshield off and look beneath the head where the head joins to the block for corrosion green rusty if you use coolant now i cant say for certain that this is a head symptom or not coz id had the prob whilst driving with screwed head but is worth checkn anyway as these model are notorious for head C**k ups due to the gasket they used
