so true tickford_6 revs are not the answer
I've had highly strung 7000rpm engines in car and its not all that. if I remember correctly 7.5krpm on track (AT WAKEFIELD of all places) ....(must have been quite on it that day these are torquey motors and the best advise I can give is to embrace your rev range just make it very hard but more so very efficently within your range the only thing limiting you is your cam and ECU.

I am trying to talk someone into doing a 2nd t/body, then we think we will come close to the mark, if not exceed it.
But it is all speculation at the moment.

Quote: Mine did that the other night, I think, except it's not a turbo at all so no idea how. Car took off in third, wouldn't change no matter what I did (no kickdown, no manual shifting with the tiptronic) and the gear selector light on the dashboard was flashing. Few minutes later, seemed to be all good. Is that what your dad's car had? How did they fix it in the end? Ive had this problem in my BA XR8 but it came good after an hours rest. Being stuck in third is the transmission going into limp home mode. |

I'll try to take mine in to get it checked out just in case.
