ok this isnt really about the falcon but its still a ford question, i got a KE laser here, when we got it had a blown haed gasket, so i spent a day changing it making sure all was good, it ran awesome for about 2 weeks then driving home i noticed it getting hot, by the time i was home it had died and oil was everywhere in the engine bay, mixed with water (coffee colour), i didnt think it could be the head gasket again but now looking at it, i think maybe it is, anyways it didnt start or hasnt been started for the last 3 months, i wen tout this morning to play with it and to my surprise it started straight away, no oil in the sump yet, but it is using lots of water, so i know its leaking somwhere, upon further inspection i see that theres that coffee colour oil again coming from the pipes that lead out of the exhaust manifold and up to the air filter. would this be head gasket again, or maybe just the manifold gasket??? i dont wanna replace the head gasket again if i dont need too.

there could be a crack in the head or even the block ..
did you get the head looked at ,might need shaving a little as well.

yeah got it all done properly they said it was good to go, thats why i thought it so strange that it only lasted 2 weeks. maybe i didnt run it in properly, or yeah the block is buggered, i have a spare motor here but i'm not keen to pull it out and swap em.

it could be that the block to head mating surface is un even or the old gasket wasnt fully removed from the block i knew a fella who cleaned the block up that much he shaved the top of and in 5ooks it blew another gasket

Ford heads are blocks are fine, its just the poor original gaskets which have been replaced with reliable AU gaskets. And the straight 6cyl is completely different from the laser 4.

its always a wise idea to machine the head surface when changing gasket, plus getting the right torque sequence is a must!!!

that coffee coloured oil sound a bit like its got blow by but it pays to check the sorfaces . did it cook the first time before you changed the head gasket if so you may have warped the little bloke
