hey ppls. whats ppl opinions on coolant stopleak..
i have a slight weepage of coolant below me extractors from the headgasket.. no coolant in cylinder or oil in coolant. whilst trying to workout when i can whack an AU headgasket kit in it, i went and got some coolant stopleak (RADS) and threw it in, on advice of a coupla mechanically minded ppl.. i put it in without reading the destruction manual , then threw the bottle out.. (typical) and now some ppl are saying that you cant add them to glycol based coolant!! lol whats ppls thoughts.. i think the weeping has stopped. will be able to tell in the morning as soon as coolant heats up and when block is relatively cold so its not evaporating instantly as it weeps. should i flush coolant .. or leave it in there ?

Personally I don't like the stuff, they have a tendancy to block radiators!
I doubt it would be incompatible with gycol based coolant, as these coolants are by far the most common coolants around. If in doubt go back to the shop you bought it from and have a read of the instructions on a bottle, no need to buy another.

Throw some $40 head bolts on there and it may permanintly fix it too ??iT's the bolts stretching, head rising allowimg this to happen..

you may aswell do it properly the first time. will save troubles down the track. now that you have used stop leak whick is a quick fix but a menace later on it will pay to have the radiator professionally cleaned and tested. if the head gasket is to be replaced its wise to have the head tested and milled if needed, they should also replace the valve stem seals at the same time. the AU head gasket kit is the way to go but mono torque is also good. the head bolts are only about $25. in the kit there should be a exhaust like gasket its for the split in the exhaust mainfold, im not sure if your model had that.
