ACL race series. Pretty pricey though. I'm not too sure, but i think i paid $100 for the head set, or it could have been just the head gasket on its own. Yeah anywayz, seems to be good stuff

JMM also do a triple layer metal head gasket too don't they?

s**t, $100.00, if that's all it costs to replace a head gasket, then who the hell cares if the I6's have a rep for it..... :D

ACL Race Series head gaskets retail for $170ish that's just the gasket not the kit.
Go the AU metal one, I got quoted $80 at one local Ford spare parts genuine joint and $90 at another.
You will still need manifold gaskets, coolant, rocker cover gasket (maybe bolt seals too), thermostate hosuing gasket, etc.

I think all AU's are a 3 metal shim gasket,

The one I got from JMM was a 3 shim one.

when looking at it, you think... wow this actually seals? cos its just pressed rather than a band around the cylinder.. but it works... I've even heard people using more than one gasket

hahaha the labour is ridiculous. JMM said the labour is about 800 bucks just to change the head gasket. ford start at 1500 for the job. so if the head needs fixing it costs even more. im paying 1200 which includes all labour, head reco, head work (porting etc) and a dyno run.
