Hi there, no i havent blown a head gasket, but how hard is it to change one? i owuld like to do this before i do blow one, so how do i go about doing it? do i have to reset the timing? or can i unblot it put the new gasket on and then put the head on and bolt it on and im away? also wat gasket should i ask for if in the future i plan to run forced induction?

drain cooling system,,pull the manifolds off,,take the tappet cover off,,remove power steering pump,,release tension on timing chain,,undo the head bolts,,remove head,,scim if needed,,place new gasket on block,,and reverse..done
and i would change your oil when finished to.

read this, mostly the same apart from a few differences such as removing the fuel rail etc. Not a particularly easy job and make sure you got a good set of quality tools, I learnt the hard way.

yeah just when u get the head off, take it to a machining shop to get its surfaced, and as a rule of thumb u would use a au gasket,
