Isnt it funny how your car can be running like a dream and when you get one problem almost sorted, another one will rear its ugly head immediately? My EBII Fairmont has done it!!!
I started the engine last night, and reversed out of my parking spot with the parkers on......so far so good. Turned the headlights on and the engine just stopped....dead. It re-started ok, and the same thing happened when I flicked the headlights on. The engine always cranks well and starts within about 5 seconds. While driving the voltmeter (on the dash) always shows the battery is being charged (the needle is up near the second bar from 16volts). Ive had no problems with the battery or any electrics so its got me beat. As it stands I cant drive the car at night and I'm going to have to tomorrow. Any ideas...........please?????????? |

Thanks very much for that tip. I checked the cables and the only one thats tight on the negative terminal is the earth. There are 3 other wires that had green corrosion on the connectors, and I must've knocked them yesterday when I cleaned the terminals and put some vaseline on them. Theyre now completely separate from the connectors. It looks like the green corrosion crap was the only thing holding them on. ..lol
