This is assuming your running an E series haed. After looking arouns I think you are correct ... the reason being the E-series heads got hot at the rear (found out a long time after R&D had been completed and many kays were driven) ... causing the head gasket to fail and heads to warp ... hence the relocation of the sensor to the rear of the head instead of the thermostat housing. I had found under heavy load on warmer days the back of the head on my Au was getting warm and sending my temp gauge through the roof ... but the rest of the system was running at the correct temp (using an infrared thermometer).

ok guys, according to super cheap, there are two heat sensors.
a water temperature sender, and a temperature gauge sender. i have ordered a gauge sender and will instal on thursday and get back to you. any idea where its located? |

ok guys i got the product from echlin and it was the same as the tridon sensor i got the first time. the dude said he would sort it out and is almost certain that it will be a product from another brand with is 40 odd dollars (double the price)

ok i changed the part today, which was right next to the other sensor i changed and there was no change F***
what should i try next? |
