What is the best material to use for a heat shield to cover the extractors?
The trouble I have is the extrac heat is melting the inner cable (neoprene>?) and making my clutch sticky (new clutch, new cable, new pedal box, firewall welded) this is the only solution I can come up with, as the cable is very,very hot after running the car for 15 mins....motor still cool though(near blue on temp) Any help guys, would be greatly appreciated. This is giving me the absolute s**t!!!

You could thermal wrap the extractors.
Could have them HPC/ceramic coated. |

Just a quick one did you have problems with your clutch feeling sticky from hot gummy inner cables that got hot from extracs? Mine is with accel and clutch, probably even my cruise cable, I havn't checked yet!!

mate only put new motor in and had extractors in before but put heat wrap on clutch and throttle cable and wiring when i got them so i have not had the trouble of melting cables

Maybe its just a problem with your sik mate sik v8 clutch?

just athought .instead of wrapping the extractors which would be a bummer to do why not just wrap the clutch cable.if you can get hold of some of that heavy thermal silver paper stuff you could cut it into strips easy peasy.

sand a lil bit off the outer of the cable, just to let heat proof paint stick, and give it a spray? i dunno ive never tried it or never had your problem.

not going to work it not going to protection it as well it will crack over time thermo tec heat sheeve are the go and you need to heat shield the throttle cable as well

Repco maybe? I hope it does the job, and hope it repels the heat enough

so this thermo tech stuff will stop cable from getting hot and making clutch stroke sticky???
