i was thinking of some thing like that but two plates one each side bolt together with packing if needed some thing like that any way....

ive made the bracket at work from the tutorial and i havent really worked on cars much just wondering how to take the clutch cable out etc any tutorials on this???/

i have an xh xr6 tickford ute, mine has a metal square plate welded around where the clutch cable comes out of the fire wall. will get pics up soon.

made the bracket it all in place and all good now i got clutch slippage .... hit 3000 rpm then just slips and when pressing the clutch in the whole fire wall moves , so i gunna price up a standard clutch not a heavy duty one this might stop the fire wall from moving hopefully what u guys think......

may have something to do with the angle that the cable goes through the wall, yours appears to be at the wrong angle. If you look at the pic on page 1 you will see what I mean

yeah i followed the tutorial but the angle just seemed way to big so i like halfed it..... but the clutch was slipping before any ways.....

you really need that angle in the tutorial..
your clutch will still work at a straight angle. but with alot of use the inner cable will cut through the alloy outer cable destroying the cable.. i did it straighter on my first attempt and it destroyed the cable within 6 months of everyday driving.. here is a crappy diagram i made to show you what i mean..

the bit that cracked on yours tore clean out of my au with no warning what so ever, it was bigger than a 50cent coin

ok ill have to take it off and change it but i stuck it on with this stuff.... maybe i can just make and extra angle bit and weld it while its on there who knows or see what happens lol

i seen my mate hes a mechanic he fixed about 10 of these cars with the same problem and he rekons my one was pretty bad and he said do it cause mine was all caved in so i knocked it out and did it so it kept it flat surface
