the height of the pedal is determined by how you have the clutch adjusted.
there should be a spring that goes from the pedal to the floor to take out the free play...

HA!
I had the same problem (cracked firewall) in my EF I bought on the 10th of October, first thing I did before buying it was take it home & went over it with a fine toothed comb, spotted the cracked firewall straight away, took it back to the car yard, told them I'd take it for $1500 less & on condition that they'd weld the crack up, Just to make sure they'd do the job properly I went into work made up a new reinforcing plate in the tool shop to cover the crack, pre-drilled for cable & all, took it back to the car yard, gave it to them & low & behold.........they tossed it!

Because of the pressure exerted on the firewall from the cable, that section had sunk about half an inch inwards compared to the rest of the firewall.
God Damn Frigging Amateurs!!!!

The least they could have done was jam a screw driver behind the cracked section to bring it into line, Tack it into place & remove the screw driver & finish the weld........ but NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Should see this freaking mess, Slag Spalling hanging off it like dags on a sheep's a***!

Jeezus, you try & make it easier for some people & they still want to jack you around

I'd have done better doing it myself with a Mig.

Bottom line NEVER EVER trust a Mechanic who takes a wage from someone else, if they don't run/own their own business then they just plain don't give a F@#K!

/ rant mode.

usually if the pedal looks bent you will find the pedal box is cracking around the clutch pedal pin..
unfortunatly the firewall and pedal box are both huge failing points in the e series falcons..

ive had both fail and needed to re enforce and repair them both

unfortunatly the dash needs to be removed to get the pedal box out..

if your good you might be able to weld it in the car but its a bit of a fire risk...

this is mine after i repaired it..

Clampy, what's wrong with keeping the Heavy duty clutch?
Just repair the crack in the firewall & leave it, chances are you will NEVER need to replace the clutch for the life of the car.

Treat em nicely & they'll be low maintenance, I got 10 years out of the Clutch & Brakes on my EA, in fact they're still good, I just got a better car for the right money.
