gday, i have a eb series 2 and its my first car so i dont know jack s**t about anything, so anyway the dad for xmas decided to buy a new battery but put it in the wrong way.

Now he had told me up the back left of the engine something was smoking, i found 3 diodes that were melted around the engine and replaced them so the car starts now, but wont idle.. any ideas guys?

is it a manual or an auto, reset base idle, then take for a drive.

to reset base idle:
1. Ensure the car is up to temperature
2. Leave idling for 2 mins in Park with no accessories on
3. Idle in drive for 2 Mins with no accessories on
4. Leave idle in Park for 2 mins with all accessories on (i.e aircon and other engine based accessories)
5. leave idle in drive for 2 mins with all accessories on
