just joined.. and was hopeing for some advice.

ive got an el 97 fairmont ghia,auto,extractors with 2 1/2 allthrough,ss big mouth CAI,k&n air filter,3.45 diff.

i am looking at cam and chip
just got a quote from Chiptorque, they said about 2k
crow phase3 cam-$500
fitted-$360
chip and tune-$1195

does any one agree with this mod, and the crow cam cos i was looking at wade cam??.
the crow cam, is the one they suggest. supply and fit.

you could have the same outcome, but alot cheaper.

1. Get a Wade regrind cam, which will be around $200 after all associated costs, plus get someone from here to fit it for you.... maybe $100.

2. Keep an eye out for used Chiptorque chips on ebay, here and other car forums. Max i would pay is $300, then go to Chiptorque & pay the $400 they want for a custom dyno tune.

So all up this way costs $1000 max....... which is half of what you were quoted !!!

Yeah I agree with that, I personally don't like regrinds but that is a prefference thing, lets not go there. Definately look for a second hand chip just make sure it is reprogramable, the reprogramable ones have a little white plug on the bottom of them. I have a cam and springs laying around here, I will PM you about it!

I know a guy that has got a chip to sell. I wouldn't put a crow cam in a billy cart after the experience I had with them. Ring waggot cams and tell them what you want to achieve, they also have a tune to suit a waggot 766 which goes very well.
