hey just got my ef engine in my ea and was fine for the first hour or so but then it wont go over 3500 rpm when it gets to 3500 it chuggs (like im hitting a speed limiter or something) does it in every gear aswell
occasionally it will go over but soon brings me back to earth by locking up the tires and dropping me to 3500 like i just dropped it from 4th to 1st
please some1 have a answer for this.
could it be vacuum related?

Maybe the map sensor is disconnected? Check to see if the Vacuum line is connected mate. Did you convert just the engine or the did you do the BBM aswell?

Hi, the map sensor is a little rectangular black box with a vacuum line and a plug that connects to your engine loom. Usually mounted on the firewall. The vacuum line connects to your bbm opposite the throttle body near the passenger side strut tower. As far as the electrical connector goes, look for an unused plug in your harness at tha rear of your engine and that will almost certainly be your map sensor connection. If it is a different fitting then it's not the one. It is nearly impossible to connect anything on the engine incorrectly as all the plugs are different except the injector wiring.

It may be possible you left the map sensor out when you did the conversion?

What fuel pump are you using???? If your EA was centre-point injected they run a smaller capacity fuel pump compared to the multi-point falcons.

Try reseting the ecu by disconnecting the battery for 15mins, now try to rev it out...

Does it blow any white/blue/black smoke when drops back to 3500rpm and you hold it there??

If your EA was CFI, the fuel pump will not provide enough actual pressure to operate 6 injectors on a fuel rail. Change the pump and the inline fuel filter, then see if there is a decent improvement
