How about you try and type without CapsLock first...because it is plain annoying.

Since you ran your petrol tank till it was low...maybe your fuel filter is blocked because it has picked up all the s**t on the bottom of tank and blocked it completely. Try that first.

WTF is it with people and Capslock...it's like shouting...if you shouted at me as a customer I'd throw a spanner at your head.

your fuel pump will be buggered. DON'T RUN A CAR OUT OF PETROL! If you can't afford to run it don't own it

running it low on fuel probably picked up crap off the bottom of your tank and has blocked up your fuel pump, or even cooked the pump if it wasnt always submerged.
the pump may be just keeping upat the moment till u reach 3000rpm.

and yeah, edit your title to lower case please....or the whole post

As the above guys have suggested, if the car has been run till it runs out of petrol, the fuel pump has most likely picked up a whole heap of crap probably clogging up both the pump as well as filter. Renew both items and see how that goes.

I would replace the fuel pressure regulator at the end of the fuel rail or atleast test your fuel pressure.

hi im new to ford mods but had to reply as i had the exact same problem till recently and after an aginizing and exhausting search for the problem it turned out to be as simple as a stuffed cat.
it was bloking up the exhaust like a potato stuffed up the tailpipe when i took the cat of i found that it was dead empty and that all the guts of the cat had been pushed through to the next muffler so i took of the next section of exhaust and gave it a good shake and got a couple of handfulls of cat guts
i put it all back together the car still ran the same as yours prolly will to but if you spiratically grand ma it and take of open throttle, sometimes with and without power mode and air con the computer will quickley learn that it once again has a decent exhaust flow and after about twenty mins of driving in different driving styles it should fix itself. with myn after 20 i took of full throttle and it was really sluggish like normal but when it hit 3000rpm which is were it would usually stop and not go further it just took of and nearly left me in the back seat lol the only other thing i did was the o2 sensor but that made lil change.

so all in all i reckon your exhaust is blocked.
