remove the speedo transducer from the transmission housing
poke you finger in the hole and see if you can feel the drive gear on the outputshaft make sure its not spinng on the shaft it is a known fault that the clip holding the gear on output shaft can break resulting in no speedo operation and limp mode

well i'm not too sure if the speedo probllem is oging to be related to your gear box limp home mode problem. my speedo doesnt work, my odometer does and there is no problems with my auto shifting

That means you're speed sender is working, your cluster is not.

if the box is shifting properly, means everything except the speedo needle (ie. the cluster) is working. As the speed sender sends to the cluster, which sends to the ECU, which then controls the auto.

If the box isn't shifting normally (limp mode), the issue widens to ECU/Speed Sender/Speed Sender Gear/Wiring/Cluster

nah, but you'd have an incorrect reading.

if it has been like it the whole time i would say you would be unlucky to get to stuffed cogs in two diffrent boxes and i havent heard of any clusters going like that, maybe try stickin the cordless drill on the end of the transducer gear, turn you key on and see if you can spin up the speedo or odometer, sounds like the transducer is stuffed mate,
