hey all, hope you could help me with something thats probably really simple
ive just bought a wrecked EF for $300 that im using as parts for my EFII. for some reason it came without keys (well it is a wreck...) now im perfectly able to go down to ford with ownership papers to get a key cut from the VIN but i would rather not fork out the $80 or whatever it is all i want to do is crank the engine to see how well the engine runs before or if i start wrecking it... how would i be able to crank it without the key? obviously the smartlocky thing means i cant crank it the normal way thanks! |

you can start it pull the ignition apart and from memory u can put a small flat blade down the centre of the barral make sure u do not disconnect the smart lock or it will have a fit

If you have two cars you could pop the ignition barrel out of one and temptorarily put it in the wreck to start the engine. Once you are done with your deciding, just put the barrel back in the original car....

Get another ignition barrel from a wreck, unplug the one in the car,
Connect the new one, go through the programming sequence *search* and start the car.
