Post subject: help needed for EF sedan Fuel sender resistance

I have just changed my fuel pump a few weeks ago when the fuel guage sender has now stuffed up. Ford want 180 bucks for another one, I said no thanks (cost as much as new fuel pump

)
Has anyone got the resistance valves of the sender (the gregorys didn't have anything usefull as usual :roll:

)

i dont know what they are for a falcon but try cleaning the contacts with really fine wet and dry sand paper. and check terminals u might find that it will fix it.

yea I gave her a touch-up with 2000g wet'n'dry & checked terminal contacts, but didnt help much

well what resistance do u get from it when moving the float up and down?
do it slowly to.

if its says open circuit then its proberly not fixable.

I havent tested the values as I have nothing to compare it with
its not open circuit, erratic guage
its back in the tank at the moment
im pretty sure its not the dash guage as it only happened after I replaced the pump

It will certainly tell you if your fuel gauge is okay - you may be able to move your sender through it's full range while watching the output from the odometer reading.
