Hey guys,
i have smoke coming out of the conecter that runs from the positive terminal down to a conecter, it has a green and a purple'ish wire going into it an 2 yellows coming out. the smoke comes from this connecter. i swapped the 2 wires coming from the battery, but its the connecter with the 2 yellows causeing the problem. can i cut another one of my spare car and crimp it on? thnx lynx

hey mate, I think I could help ya with this 1, just gotta give a bit more of a detailed imaged so we can understand what you mean.
Positive terminal of what? What is this connector for or where is it located? If its smoking, theres a short circuit in there, have a look and make sure a wire hasn't come loose or bared itself.

1st disconnect the battery if you haven't already.
Sounds like you have blown the fusible links. You need to find out why they blew, fix the problem, then get new fusible links.

its not a fuseable link, just a normal 2 pin connecter. its shorting somewhere on the female part.

If it is just a connector and it is smoking then it is heating up due to poor conectivity at the connector. Replace it by splicing in a new one and all should be good.. Leave it like this and as per a previous post it can catch fire.

ok my bad, it is a fuseable link, its written on both the red and green wire running down into the connecter, i just tried putting on a new one, and it just smoked up again,
rough diagram red ----> yellow Green ---> yellow/brown couldnt up load pics, but both the red and green come off the positive terminal on the battery edit ok managed to get some pics, also noted that 5 injecters have 851 on them, and the one i changed has 070 on it, is this something that would cause the problem, as it looks like those yellow wires control power to injeters and fuel pump Terminal Wires http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q70/ ... G_0001.jpg Normal Injecter 851 http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q70/ ... G_0002.jpg Other Injecter 070 http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q70/ ... G_0001.jpg

The green fuseable link feeds 12v to the fuel pump relay then onto the fuel pump and the red one feeds 12v to the ECU relay which also gets power to the injectors.
start unplugging the fuel pump relay first to rule that circuit out. It's the green relay under the coolant tank. Also did you just put a new injector in and it started smoking? If that is the case then the injector you put in is drawing a s**t load of current and it should be removed.

ummmmm..... i found the prob. the bolt behind the 851 plug had pinched the edge of the lead for that injecter and was earthing thru the manifold, so all the injecters are fine, including number 2
the problem is in the loom , cause the new injecter still wont fire
