get some twin core wire (or two single wires, doesn't matter) and strip back about 8mm of insulation, twist and fold in half to make it more solid and less likely to fray when you push it into the fuse holder. I put crimp terminals on, but if you can't, just twist the wire. Make sure it doesn't stick out the side when you push them into the fuse holder and cause it to short across the two wires - it won't be protected (you took the fuse out!)
With the other end of the wires just twist them around the terminals on the globe and you're set.

I have a momentary switch in series with mine so I can walk around the car holding it, turning it on briefly when I'm checking a new point... You're probably best off not leaving it on for more than a couple of moments at a time to avoid damaging any wiring or burning out the short. So if you have a switch you can throw in there, do that. It will also save the battery if you spend a while fault finding. This is something handy to hold on to for future use aswell, I've had mine for about 5 years now and it's been very handy!

ok great thanks for the pics, stupid question but when im putting the wires where the fuse go's. im not going to turn the parker switch on correct. because that would blow the globe ???
i will hopfully try this and let you know how i go cheers instead of using the terminal crimps. could i use the terminals from a fuse ive blowen |

You can use the blown fuse to push and pinch the wires into the holder if you like, just make sure it doesn't crush the wires causing them to bridge across and touch eachother rather than going through the globe. The fact the fuse is blowing instantly means there is a 'dead short' - the power is going directly to ground with no resistance / load. Turn the parkers on with the short light hooked up and the power will be going through the globe and earthing through the short. When the short is found and dislodged or repaired, then the light will go out and you're safe to put another fuse in and check the system normally.
Before you muck around with any of this though, start simple. Disconnect everything you did before the problem ocurred and if that doesn't fix it then I'd be checking the trailer plug and wiring, tail light globes (have you replaced one lately by chance?) and anything else you may have played with recently.

problem fixed thank f*k lol
i got the car home tonight from the panel beaters. and had a little bit of light left. so i throught i would see if my brake lights were blowen. so i took the plastic covering off and noticed a bolt that had a wiring loom under it. and i remember now when i was trying to find a place to put my ground wire for the amp i tried a bolt . but the bolt was to small for fit the ground wire connector. so dont know how i managed because at the time the loom i bolted down. was hidden by the plastic covering. so i feel pretty stupid . but happy the problem is fixed and it didnt cost me anything more then my time witch is fine thanks to the guys on here for the ideas and tips |

Hey guys i had a bare wire spark in my eb wagon fixed that but now the anti theft light doesn't come on and keyless entry won't work and engine turns over but not starting is it a relay
