Hi does anyone know what the correct part number is for the 2 orings for the inner and outer timing chain tensioner bolts?
Ford ordered the wrong part (V890066S) which is for the water pump and much too large.. |

Cant say i know the part number, probably wouldn't buy the part from fraud anyway for the fact id end up paying $10 for 2 O rings as apposed to $2 for the same rubber without a ford branded packet. Why not take the part into a auto parts suppler like auto pro/repco/supercheap auto and get them to match the sizes you need on the part? probably be a heap cheaper too.

The two part numbers are, V890066S and V890156S. They ARE the ones that are used for what you want. Have sold them before for what you need.

Thanks for the info Pappa Smurf,
It must just be a really tight fit didn't look like it would go in with the new oring on the tensioner bolt, the old one has shrunken considerably I will go for round 2 and hopefully stop the leak this time. Thanks again for the info it's great knowing its the right part and saved me a trip into town. And thanks Robert for the advise I did get the smaller o ring from a local business as I would prefer to give them some business over ford and not get price gouged but couldn't find one the right size for the larger o ring. I will take a few photos when i do it as theres a few dead links for some of the Images in the sticky. |

My Tensioner bolt looks different to those pictured in the timing chain tensioner sticky, this is what my tensioner looks like.
This is a picture from the sticky notice how my tensioner bolt looks different (no thread on the end that touches the tensioner) This is what makes me think the o ring is not the right one, when the o ring is located in the valley on the end of the retaining bolt the Outside diameter is too large for it to screw back in with the o ring. This is my tensioner with the new o ring fitted (V890066S) My Falcon is an AUIII wagon. And this is a picture of my attempt to insert the tensioner bolt with the (V890066S) o ring fitted outside diameter seems to be too large. When trying to insert the bolt the o ring wants to slide up the bolt and the the bolt doesn't go in far enough for the thread to bite in when the o ring is fitted. |
