hmm i dont have a vac tree below the throttle body only the one near the fuel reg..
there is only the fitting for the pcv hose under the throttle body.
The EF and EL BBM's I've seen have an 'F' vaccy tree there - I couldn't remember whether you mixed the BBM halfs with AU items.

but ill have a look at how the check valve is conected in a el..
as i didnt have a el to see how it was conected when i did mine. so i just fiddled around till i got it to work...
Probably wouldn't make a huge difference between your method and the factory one.
It does have me intrigued though.

ive got the heater controles, bbm vac, canister purge and fuel reg all conected to the vacuum tree at the rear of the manifold near the fuel reg.

the only other vac hose thats seperate is the one for the map sensor.
and the large one for the pcv..

but i used a slightly smaller diameter vac hose for the canister purge because the one that was on the ea was about 1/4 inch in diameter and the one on the vac tree is about 1/8 inch..

and ive had no real problems with the car so far..

Hey guys, well I've just done my conversion, and all is good, just maybe one problem. All of the vac lines are connected as they were, and all of the hoses are there and good. The heater control line (thin black plasticy one going through firewall) is connected via a T-piece from the canister purge line coming from the F-tree under manifold (which also connects to PCV valve). I also included another check valve just for good measure, BUT, I cannot change from recirc to fresh air on my control panel, and some of the directional changes, like feet, screen, face etc. take a bit of time.

After I pulled the line to check, there is a ton of vacuum, like heaps, enough to hold on to your finger when waving it around, but still no fresh recirc adjustment. And if I listen carefully, when I put on ignition, I can hear down near the heater box/core whatever under glove box, I can hear the fresh recirc flap shutting, and when switch ignition off, hear it opening again????

Could I have pulled the vac line out partially or something, or is something really wrong, and it's very annoying problem, as the car fogs up in no time, and needs air-con to dehumidify everything.

Weird, but any help would be good.

Cheers,

Mark.

Hi Guys,

Sorry to raise an old topic over again, but this is about the last step before I turn the car over.

Where can I buy one of the "Check Valves?"

I have had not luck with Repco, Supercheap, Bursons etc, the only one I could see online was for a Mercedes

Any help appreciated greatly.

Cheers
