ok, since ive owned the car (2001 SR Falcon)(owned for half a year now) its had this strange problem that i havnt fussed over to much. now and then ( i meen like once a week or less)

When i start it up in the morning usualy around 6 or 7 so its fairly cold, reverse out of my driveway, drive up the steet and make a right hand turn and i have only noticed this on right hand turns, it seems to drop out of gear mid turn and just goes no where for like 3 or 4 seconds then it clicks back in and goes fine ? no bad noices? just falls out of gear? the stick stays in drive just no go ?...

i have to go realy easy and smooth around the corner for it to never do it ?. odd? no? any ideas

thanks in advance.
Tez Smooth.

Auto is probably shagged or on the way! But yeah that is very odd! Auto's are strange cause some problems happen at cold and some happen at hot!

do a tranny service on it. change the oil and filter and if it still does it welcome to the club. there are quite a few people with cold tranny gremlins on here

get the best ranny oil you can get... the expensive synthetic stuff... and make sure you have a trans oil cooler. Once the oil cooks it's stuffed and can stuff the tranny

sounds like the previous owner of the car got a 2 grand quote to replace the auto gearbox so he traded it on on a newer vehicle and than you got stuck with his trouble.

The answer is low trans fluid. My trans had a leak for a long time and the no drive told me it was time to top it up.

it could be a million things but i'd start with low oil level, partially blocked filter and/or cooler.
