Hey guys i was just thinking, i remember a few yaers ago my dad had an xb falcon 250 pre-cross and it had extractors and a twin system on it, and it sounded pretty tough, now i was wondering would it be possible in the ef/el? i realise both pipes would have to run down the rh side of the car but twin from extractors right through? do you reckon it would sound ok? or has anyone done this before???

i once saw an ef XR6 with twin pipes.. well, it was twin twins.... like 4 pipes... sounded good as it went past.. dont know if it was twin the whole way, or even if it was a dummy pipe.. looked good though...

My bro had an XD Sedan over 15 years ago with a twin system, not even extractors, not 100% sure where it split but I do remember when I was much younger how "scary" it sounded, lol it went well too, all was in good nick.
The thing to remember tho is if it's gonna be twin from right at the front for example, not to have too big'a pipe for each side. Even twin 2" is plenty big or even a bit overkill, as collectively it's almost 4" or the same as running a sys too big.. |

I remember some while back about either a predator or something by that name that was on disply at the ford factory in geelong an ex show car i think in gold it had a brilliant set of twins and was an EL . Was possibly on here or maybe ford forums but if you do a search possibly on the ford geelong you may pull up some info on it...

i wouldn't bother. you'd gain nothing but more cost and hassles in setting it up, and more weight.

it wouldn't look any better than just fitting a second fake tip. which would be a better way as a. it would be cheaper. b. it would weigh less. and c. 2 1/2" single pipe has been proven to be optimum. |

Wheres the proof that this applies for all EF/EL 6cyl? i can assure you, its not optimum for all n/a 6cyl E-Series.

Besides, twin 2" or 1 3/4" from extractors back sounds absolutely mad! I've heard it. Sounds nothing like a single pipe setup. And, if done properly, would probably work better, may weigh more but who cares! IMO it looks nuts and sounds better!
