hey,

wasnt sure where to post this as i saw no intro thread, so i figured i post it in here as its basically a V6 thread ;) ( feel free to move the thread mods)

anyways i own 1999 TH manual MAGNA sports, yes i know im in the wrong place but i have a genuine interest in all cars, especially other NA 6's .... havnt come here to cause no trouble :P

anyways heres my stats,

TH magna sports 3.5L V6 manual ( FWD GAY!)
130 kw's atws with 356 NM ( graham west dyno)
basic mods done including
CAI
2.5 inch cat back zorst
restrictive inner lip on the throttle body removed(still only 65mm though:()
super low lovel springs

UP COMING MODS
slightly larger cams
paceys
flowed cat
70mm throttle body
and a TUNE

hopefully that will give me 145-150 atws and ill take it from there

got body kit rims 2 grand stereo all that stuff but they not really important

what im really interested in is what u guys are getting from NA 6's and 1/4 times

judging by what some mates of mine in magnas have got with slightly less power than me id expect 14.9-14-7 ( assuming i can get traction at the start )

well got a few mates who have got 220kw from the na inline 6, at the engine so whats that about 145 kw or so through a auto though.
with no cam mod.
the inline 6 will make a fair bit more torque than the magna v6

200kw should be a reachable target for the ford inline 6

the magna's are pretty quick..... dunno about the new ones though.... there's a couple of 97-2002 shape magnas up here that were making life very hard for the V8 brigade a couple of years ago.... not nice getting flogged by a FWD magna lol

wow 290!? gotta give some credit there :O

the thing i mainlydont understand is its very possible for magna / falcons to achive 200 atws in 6's but the feeling iu get from commo mags and friends who r into commo is that if u want any more than 160 atws in a V6 commo ull have to look at a S/C or turbo :S

the thing that most sucks for me is that there is really only one magna specialist company ( rpw ) with performance gear, they have a huge monopoly over magnas so prices r high, and dont have a whole lot of options and products to choose from :( also the Mass air flow sensor is an absolute b**ch to, so basically i cant change throttle bodies or car wont be happy ......only option is to bore out the stock 65mm tb to 70 mm which is ALREADY PAPER THIN:( .........damn i envy u guys lol

Yeah you'll find most N/A flacons round here have kits available to get up to 185rwkw for just under 7K without any real ECU adjustments....if u want any noticable jump then u need to spend heaps more on a piggy back unit or new ECU then the extra mods u want so the your well over 10K I think thats why most dont go any higher.

Any higher and the turbo setup would be a better go to begin with.

yeah there are a few ... also some turbo's around like booya .. been in that car and maaan it was quick ( im sure u have seen vids of his car burning:() and there r some others buzzing around doing 13-11 second 1/4's .....

though turbo and s/c dont interest me on a 6 to much ... wa i look at it some of u probably see it this way to .. if u can beat some modded imports/v8's they will be impressed and assume turbo or s/c.... what would be the ultimate is saying " nah mate NA 6 " lol that is the goal:P

anyways this is a ford forum dont wanna clog up the forum with magna crap... im hear to learn :P

also wanna say thanx for not slinging car insults to lmao i was expecting some "grandma car" remarks lol

F**k me mate 290kws. Fordgt290, do u have any more details about this car?

FNFAT6 i agree with you mate, there's nothing better than smoking someone at the lights and them asking "what u got under the hood turbo, surpercharger, nos?"
"Nah mate, NA power"

 NA all the way
