Hi guys,

Another exhaust thread lol. I'm considering getting Pacemakers standard extractors, Lukey exhaust 2.5 "AL5-4022 and T4563 2.5 inch " it's under the EB Falcon growl, and the problem is wheather or not to go the hi-flow cat. Now I've been doing some research and I'm divided. Is it worth it?

No dont bother unless your after about .5rwkw, seriously they add bugger all power. BUT i would suggest you get a hold of an AU Tickford cataylic converter basically the same as an aftermarket hi-flow, but half the price.

Do exhaust shops sell the AU's? or would I have to go Ford Spares or something?

Go to imagshack.us and upload a pic, then just copy and paste the link called 'hotlinks for forums' (either 1 or 2) in where your writing your response and it'll come up

Is your old cat converter in decent condiition? If it is, get it modded to fit and use it. Ford since the 80's have been known for making great flowing cat converters. At one point in the 80's, exhaust shops were fitting the Ford cats to other cars as a mod and that due to the increased flows.

However, if your cats buggered, then get the high flow. Why? Because you'll find it's probably cheaper than another new genuine Ford one. And the flow rates are probably pretty much the same, high flow should be higher, but not always.

Cat converters usually only stay in good condition for 100,000km's after that they start to deteriorate. So getting one from a wrecker is pointless as they'll usually be at the end of there life.
As for genuine Ford cats being cheaper than Hi flow, I doubt it. A decent exhaust shop should be able to do a hi flow cat converter for around the $200.00 mark (2 1/2"), if you buy the Ford one, Ford Spare Parts probably rip you a new one and you've got to pay the labour to mod it to fit.
Which is why I say if your cat converters in good condition sttay with it, if not get the high flow as it's likely to be cheaper than a new Ford one, or will last longer than a second hand Ford one.

As for getting a Ford cat converter from an exhaust shop. Be very careful! There's a few companies who make the Falcon shaped ones, but there not genuine Ford ones, so they are different insider and flow different. So if you get a Ford one from the exhaust shop, check it's genuine, and then they'll probably be getting it from Ford Spare Parts, the same place as you'd get it.

efbeggza -> i got 3m 20% tinting done.
but im guessing that the last window to be done was the drivers front as it seems like it was rushed...every window is spot on perfect, but the drivers side front has got a couple of little bubbles in it...it had alot more but they dried out.
the tinting is pretty dark (most likely would be defected if a light meter was put up against it) but u can still see out at night which is good.

i think i will have a look into this image shack later this arvo after i change my plugs n leads n install the 6x9's. thanx 4 the help
