Whats the difference between the two. Ive been told the stainless have 3 times the size holes that ceramic ones have. I'll be getting the stainless but wanted to know if they really flow better than ceramic to justify the price. $400 ea

I hae a Supercat S/S. There is no noticeable power loss over no cat at all, it also sounds better.

No difference in my opinion.
Have you seen the inside of a cat in good condition? They dont really look like theyre gonna flow any better than they already do, apart from larger diameter flanges. |

I've been told by 4 exhaust shops that the stainless flow heaps better than any original. One also said there's no point doing the whole system if your not going to replace the most restrictive part of the exhaust, which makes sense. Ive read on here that the standard ones are good, but everyone i talk to say's different.

I had the standard CAT on my system for a while, with my pacemakers and the full exhaust. When i put the S/S CAT on it made it heaps louder but i couldn't really tell any difference in power. Maybe on the dyno it would show an increse

Take the magnaflow metal cat, best option.
Don't pay ~400 though, the place I got my extractors fitted wanted 380, got it for 220 off ebay. Fitted today, it's great |

Surely the ss vs ceramic also varies depending on the brands?
Or are all high flow cats stainless and all factory cats/stadnard cats ceramic? |

Also the ones with stainless insides dont break up as fast as the ceramic ones do. I'm running the stainless "metalcat/xforce" ones on mine.
