ok well i did a search and not much came up on the issue, in me xr6 the guage reads from 0 - 7, now i know these gauges arent very accurate, but it used to sit on about 2, and when i gave it s**t used to creap upto maybe 2 and a half, but recently its been sitting on about 3, going down to 2 sometimes, and even going upto 4 at times, but very seldom, maybe its a d**k gauge? can anybody help me out with this, its probly not a big problem....

Engine cold = high oil pressure
Winter. Oil thicker = high oil pressure
Just had an oil change = high oil pressure.

Wish i had this prob with my 308 V8 holden...
