Hey guys,
just wanted to know why my oil pressure is very high when I accelerate? I know that the pressure wil increase as the revs rise, but today the needle hit red and it did that more than once. just wanted to know whether this is just a one off thing that could be due to the heat or coud it be something else? Thanks Pete |

usually in the heat the oil pressure drops.
Problem one: E series don't have enough earths on the block. Problem two: The oil sender units are very inaccurate Also remember this is an electrical gauge interpreting a mechanical function, there's only one way to make sure you oil pressure is doing what its spozed too. Don't be alarmed, nearly all ef/el's have the same trait, fortunately like mine, its higher, rather than lower!

Mine was doing the same thing. Ended up being a faulty oil pressure sender.

Only worry when the light comes on.
In my futura the needle sits right near the top, in my fairmont it sits in the middle/bottom half. |
