Don't bother with shift kit, as a custom tune can firm up the shifts. Standard stall is 2,000rpm. 2,500-3,000rpm would be the max I would ever go. Keep in mind, a higher stall converter will give a lower kw reading on the dyno, so just keep that in mind when you tune (doesn't mean you're making less power, they just show a lower reading).

Yeah thought of a tune by it will only give 25 rwkw no point unroll I get a turbo or v8 it costs about 1500$ plus dyno tune

TCI seem to know their stuff - their 2800-ish converter for XR6 is something like $380 outright (ie. no exchange). Fitting should be something like $400 by any transmission workshop and to get firmer shifts, in the earlier cars you can have the S5 solenoid tweaked a bit while they have the car up doing the converter - will need to add a tad more cost for pan gasket and extra labour tho. Not sure if BA has a tweakable S5 either?

Feels a lot better, as was said above, firms up your shifts. Def worth it..If you don't want to spend that kind of money, just buy the flash tuner and do it yourself..can get one off ebay for around the $700 mark |
