Just had to show someone, probably cost about the same as some of the group buys, but there's something to be said for having a go yourself. Pretty happy with the results.

Thanks for the replies guy's. It,s 75 x 1.6 mm aluminium, got the mandrel bends from super cheap they sell them as intercooler pipes. I used two 180* bends and two 300mm straight pieces, cut them up to fit (got all the angles and measurements if any one needs them) got the ends flanged at the local exhaust place and got the welding done at the local stainless and alloy place. Hardest part was grinding back the welds and then wet and dry sanding to remove the grinding marks, my fingers were bleeding towards the end, and then the final polish with meguires all metal polish. A bit of stuffing around but what else are you going to do with your time.

Measurements would be awesome. Notice much difference performance/response wise?

looks great, but i would have put more of a flexable joiner in there as the air box is bolted to the car, and the engine can move quiet a bit when reving.

I will try and put the measurements into a more understandable format because even I find it hard to understand my scribble. Yeah I was concerned about the flexible join, but with the intake being so light I havent got any support tags, it sits in place just with the two ends being supported, this gives three points of movement and the air box is also mounted on rubber mounts so it also moves I will keep an eye on it and see how it goes.

Yeah, I dunno if my engine mounts are shot - very possible, but when I'm pulling the accelerator cable in the engine bay, she'll leen over a fair way.

Cant say Iv'e noticed much if any increase in performance, cutting a 100mm hole through the bottom of the air box into the inner guard area made more of a difference, dont cut through the brake lines like I did even though I knew they where there. Hey it looks better and it cant hurt.
