anyone know how much it would cost roughly for me to get my rocker cover put in the hot tank at an engine builders, i cant be bothered sanding the paint off!
(the hot tank will eat the paint off yeah??)

best to take it to an engine rebuilders and get em to bead blast it... most joints can do that for ya... for prolly around 20bux!

i want to retain a smooth finish though, i just dont want paint on there, will bead blasting leave a smooth bare metal finish?

just put paint stripper on it ,thats all i used

nah it will eat it off and then just use steel wool and hot water to get it off

you cant hot tank your rocker cover cause it will eat it before you know it being aluminium. Also a thing to note is that the bare alloy surface is rough anyway, so if you want it very smooth then you will need to sand it any way or fill it a fair bit with paint

Take to an engineering company with a baking oven and have it powder coated.
OR go the cheap way and use that heat resistant paint on it... Depends on the quality of the finish you are after. |

im polishing it, doesnt matter, its paintless now, hit it with paint stripper and a power drill with wire brush attatchment. thx fellas

wire brush will leave marks, I tried that and found the best thing being sanding drums and block. Have fun with the many many hours of sanding ahead of you
